I remember picking up Ceremony Magazine in my hands for the first time. My first thoughts were… Wow, this magazine is absolutely GORGEOUS! The magazine is full of quality… the cover selections, the feel of the photo paper, the typography, not to mention the photography inside was just MIND BLOWING. Ceremony features real weddings across the San Francisco/Bay Area, tabletop inspirations, the most beautiful bridal bouquets and flowers, and photography I could only gaze at. I quickly fell in love with the magazine. The magazine’s petite size made me want to tote it around in my purse so I can browse through on the go. My idols that I admired have been published in this magazine and I could only dream that someday I would ever be published in a wedding magazine.
Not too long ago, Amy Harrick, the Editor-in-Chief of Ceremony Magazine reached out to me via email. She mentioned how she loved my work and asked if I wanted to join Ceremony’s Great List of Photographers. In a split second, my heart was jumping for joy because a person like Amy has noticed my work. That moment has changed my life. I’ve had a few print publications from the start of my career (a Children’s book cover, 2010 Best of Photography, a local SF magazine), but never have I ever been published in a wedding magazine.
The 2014 Ceremony Magazine has just been released and it gives me great honor to announce that several of my photos have published throughout the magazine. Ok, seriously. It’s not just ONE page. I have multiple photos across 18 PAGES!!! While browsing through the magazine, I think my heart stopped, blood pressured raised (all in good ways) and I was almost in tears to see that Ceremony has chosen so many photos of mine to be published. I have two real weddings: Chrissy + Matt, and Ingha + Kabir, two tabletop styled shoots, bridal bouquets, real engagement photos (Jenn + Brian, Felice + Carl, Alisha + Joey, Yelena + Sean, Jenny + Ansony, Salie + Joe) .
I’ve had the honor of photographing Laura Miller Design, Paul Robertson Floral Design and The Petal Company.
This magazine is sold at Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, Albertsons, CVS, Walmart, Borders, Bloomingdale’s, Ralphs, Walgreens, and Target but you can view a copy of the magazine here. The magazine will debut in February 2014.
Thank you Ceremony Magazine and Amy for making my dreams come true. You’ve helped me achieve a goal that I’ve been dreaming about since the start of my career.
(The quality of these photos are not great since they’re only screen shots). ;]
