I have a thing for off-beat weddings and this event was no exception. I’m inspired by being in new environments and photographing anything that is different. I traveled all the way to Kelseyville, CA (2.5 hours North of San Francisco) to photograph Kimberly and Erik’s super fun and casual wedding at their family friend’s private estate. This wedding in particular has made an impact on many of my future weddings. The reason? They were my first couple to have an UNPLUGGED CEREMONY (if you don’t know what that is, check out my blog post that recently made it all the way to the New York Daily News). :] I posted an Instagram photo of their sign and many of my future brides are telling me they are going to unplugged their wedding, too! I was so grateful that they had decided to unplugged their ceremony because my assistant and I were able to capture photos without having to compete with other guests with cameras. Instead, we captured heartfelt images of their guests being in the moment while Kimberly and Erik said “I do.” Their wedding was infused with all DIY. I was particularly amazed by all the meaningful signs they painted. Kimberly also wore a blue ombre tulle dress completed with cowgirl boots! Isn’t she adorable? Kimberly’s father and the wedding host did all the cooking (omg, can I say their cooking is some of the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten?!). They also had a live band that provided entertainment throughout the night! Congratulations, Kimberly and Erik! I wish you a future filled with love and happiness!
What a fun wedding! Love the bridal party boots!
