Hi everyone!!!
Welcome to my NEW blog! I’m so excited to officially have my blog under my website name. Please bookmark, subscribe (to the right) so you won’t ever miss a blog! 🙂 Just in case, this URL is: http://jasmineleephotography.com. Thank you for coming!
Moving forward, I am excited to show a few photos from a recent Red Egg and Ginger party that I attended. If you’re wondering what a “Red Egg and Ginger party” is, it is a celebration in the Chinese culture where the proud parents introduce their newest addition to their family and friends. In exchange, guests will shower the newborn with Chinese red envelopes filled with money and gold jewelry for the girls. At the party, guests get to bring home red eggs which symbolizes happiness and the renewal of life. Ginger is also present at the party which helps give nutrition to the mother who is tired and weak after giving birth.
The party was hosted at the Empress of China, located in Chinatown, San Francisco.

Thanks, Erika!! 🙂
These parties are nice and all but I’ve been to tons of these events and they are never as classy as your photos made them to be. Good job.
Thanks, Howie! I appreciate the comment 🙂
Wow Jas! You’ve out done yourself again. I really like the clean look to this website. It’s simple, clean, and very easy to navigate. Looks great!! Great set of photos for this wedding as well btw! 🙂
you mean party? lol! thanks, Kelven!! hope you are well!
Great work and congrats on your new blog! I have a technical question. A lot of your photos have a theme of selective focus. Are you doing this all in camera or is some post processing involved? I know Photoshop can manipulate alternating points of focus. Or are you simply using a fast lens? Thanks, still learning from you, LOL.
Hey Jim! Thanks for your question. Majority of these photos were taken using a Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro IS lens. The wider shots were taken with the 24-70 lens. The selective focusing is done all through the camera. The lighting is all natural. 🙂 hope that helps!
Super shots Jasmine!! Good job of telling the story of the event!! Wonderful blog you’ve got going here to share your work!!
The only foto I didn’t like was your sp!! There is something in front of your face!! XD!!!!!!!
