Where do I even begin with this post?! I had the pleasure of photographing Nancy and Dustin’s whimsical engagement session in San Francisco! I met Nancy while photographing an engagement session early in my photography career where she was the on-site hair and makeup artist. I admired everything that she did to make my clients look beautiful. I loved Nancy’s work so much that I asked her to do my own hair and makeup for my bride and I for my promo video! Fast forward a few years later, Nancy is now engaged to her dapper fiance, Dustin. They wanted to incorporate the restaurant where they had their first date – Park Tavern in North Beach. We had made a few arrangements with the patrons next to us so that I could capture the best possible angles. Nancy and I didn’t know this but we found out a few days after the session that Dustin secretly paid for the patron’s (who sat next to us) entire dinner. Seriously, too kind! I love how much they value photography and that they would do anything for me to capture the shot. We then headed over to the Conservatory of Flowers where they brought 10 weather balloons (two of them popped) and marquee letters!!!!! So how did they transport all of this, you may ask? They drove a U-haul across the entire city to house the balloons! That U-haul also doubled as a changing room. Super kudos to them! I loved capturing their chemistry on camera. They are way adorable together! Not to mention, Nancy’s sparkly Tacori princess cut ring is out-of-this-world. Wow, wow, wow. =D We ended the night by lighting up marquee letters that they built just for the session. Congratulations, Nancy and Dustin! I cannot wait for your wedding next year!!!!
P.S., Ladies, if you’re looking for a hair/makeup/nail artist, look no further than Nancy Hua! I recommend her to all of my clients!
