Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well! I’ve totally neglected my blog for an entire month :x. My apologies… I’ve been extremely busy with work and I haven’t had any time to blog or take many photos and edit them! I’m sure many of you are in the same situation as I am.
I’ve been wanting to post these photos for quite a while so now would be the time :). I went snowboarding with my brother and cousin at Kirkwood on Friday, February 4th. I took the day off from work so having a 3-day weekend was just sweeeet! π I was super excited to snowboard since I wanted to take some cool shots with my 5dmarkii. Actually, I wanted to take some cool HD videos with my camera!Β I thought I’d be okay carrying my camera on me since I’m pretty comfortable on the snow… But omg, once I got off the slopes… I just had this bad feeling… I felt so conscious about falling on my camera. I was thinking “WHY DID I BRING MY CAMERA?!?!” haha. I was just so scared of falling on my camera and breaking it… So I made sure I was extremely careful. Once I got use to snowboarding (after not snowboarding in a year), I brought out my 5dmarkii to start recording me going down the slopes. I have yet to watch those videos and put them together :x. Once I felt fulfilled with the amount of photos and videos I’ve taken with my 5dmkii, I switched my cameras and started shooting with my Powershot D10. The D10 is a unique waterproof, shockproof camera and is just perfect for extreme weather conditions like snowboarding. It take descent photos for it being just a point and shoot, too!
So to start the photos, the following are shot with my point and shoot, the Canon Powershot D10. Enjoy!!
This photo above was just truly unique to see in person! It was so windy that the snow was blowing upward. The sun light was hitting the snow creating a slow motion wave of snow trailing up. I was lucky to catch a video of this happening and I’ll post that sometime later on… But wow, stunning site!
The lodge is down below in the center.
The following photos (below) were all taken with my 5dmarkii:
The sunset was absolutely stunning! I took all of them while in the car going back home. I would have loved to stop and shoot. But I’m just thankful I didn’t have to drive and I was able to snap some photos :).
We stopped to get some Pho for dinner. Nothing beats comfort food after a hard day on the body!! π
And there you have it! My day of snowboarding fun :). I didn’t fall until the very very very last moments right before I quit for the day. I think my legs just gave in coz I was so tired but I made it and thank goodness my camera is still in one piece!! π I don’t regret bringing my camera because you just never know when you’ll come across something beautiful worth snapping :)…
Leaving with yours truly….

Pho… definitely a cherry on top :). I am glad I brought my camera! Whoo hoo! Haha
Great shots with the white snow and the beautiful night sky as always! Await for the videos ? =)
Thanks for visiting my blog :). Yes, I’ll definitely have to put something together with all the videos I took!
Nothing better than Pho after snow! And of course, rocking the small sensor compact, you still come up with fantastic photos. Nice job!
Thanks, Jonathan! π
Great set of photos Jasmine. You’re daring to bring your camera up while snowboarding… that or you’re really good… or both! haha.
Haha, not sure about daring… but I was eager to take photos more than anything!
