It feels like a long time since I’ve posted a Las Vegas blog… If you are just tuning in, make sure to catch up on my Las Vegas series of blogs!
Las Vegas Trip – Day 3 of 4, Part I
Alrighty! This blog is dedicated to the new hotel, the Cosmopolitan’s Wicked Spoon Buffet. The Wicked Spoon was a good buffet. It has the hip contemporary atmosphere, food placed is these super cute mini cauldrons, and their water taste the best!!! (You know Vegas water can taste a little… eh).
My parents and I were one of the first in line to eat dinner at 5PM on a Monday night. I would probably not recommend coming right when it opens because the food was room temperature, but that was my personal experience.
My favorites from the night were the crab legs (omg, so goood!) and their dessert table. OMG, dessert galore!! If you’re a huge dessert person like me, you’ll love Wicked Spoons! 🙂 I’ll let the photos speak for itself.
Seriously, the best crab legs, ever!!!
Ever wanted to try what dogs love… bone marrow?! Now you can at the Wicked Spoon!! (By the way… I wasn’t feeling it. You can take the bone marrow and spread it onto bread, like butter).
Time for desserts! I LOVE all you can eat!
Yummy assortments of ice cream!
After dinner, we went for a walk around the hotel (we seriously needed it). We came across some cool things inside the hotel… like the Foosball table!! How awesome is it to have dinner and play at the same time?! 🙂
After walking through the Cosmopolitan Hotel, it was pouring, thundering, and lightning!! It was crazy cool because it gave me the opportunity to snap my first lightning shots outside my hotel room window! Here are my two favorite shots of the lightning.
My final Las Vegas blog will include a time lapse that I’ve created of the rain clouds! You won’t want to miss that! Until next time!
Another great series! I do like your signature skill of using your depth of field to focus in on certain things and leave out others. I am curious, are you doing some of that effect in post-processing? You must have a pretty fast lens to get such selective focusing. You might also be using “Lensbaby” which helps adjust depth of field points in unusual ways. Good work Jasmine. Even though we may never meet in person, it’s always great to see your work. Happy New Year! I plan to shoot some fireworks shows and put them on Flickr.
Hey Jim! Thanks for the comment. I don’t do any post-processing effects on my photos. They are all done in-camera using fast glass — Canon 35mm 1.4. I was most likely shooting wide open with these shots since the ambient light was low.
Would love to see your fireworks shots. Have a great new year and happy shooting!!
Sweet lightning shots!!
Thanks Ariel! Thank you for visiting. 🙂
